Prophetic Themes  Prophets often understudied Often not taught  Repent Unfaithfulness brings calamity God will chastise But, in mercy He desires repentance

A Shunammite Woman  She would not leave Elisha  Elisha went with her  Gehazi met them saying the staff had no effect  Elisha Went in and shut the door He prayed He stretched himself over the boy’s body Elisha walked around and repeated

Elisha Purifies Stew  There was a famine is the land  He was with the sons of the prophets  Put on a pot of stew  One man gathered herbs and wild gourds  He ground these into the stew Not knowing they were poisonous and very bitter

Jehoram (Judah)  Good people in Judah felt relief  Glad his evil influence was gone  Ahaziah his son is the next king Mother was Athaliah  What do you think will be said of Ahaziah? Evil king Lessons 1 – will good people be glad my bad influence is gone? 2 – how can I make my influence good and godly people really mourn when I die?
