Lesson 7-7 Surface Area of Prisms and Cylinders

Definition Surface Area- The sum of the area of all the faces of a solid.

Formulas Surface Area of a Rectangular Prism- The surface area S of a rectangular prism with length l, width w, and height h is the sum of the areas of the faces. S = 2lw + 2lh + 2wh Surface Area of a Cylinder- The surface area S of a cylinder with height h and radius r is the area of the two bases plus the area of the curved surface.

Find the surface area of the rectangular prism. 15m 7m 9m

Find the surface area of the cylinder 5m 2m

Find the surface area of a Triangular Prism. 4 ft 3 ft 5 ft 4ft
