SIR GAWAIN AND THE GREEN KNIGHT Denny C***** and Gena G****

SIR GAWAIN  The nephew of King Arthur and a respected Knight of the Round Table  Often referred to by his peers as “the good knight” and a “courteous knight”  Upholds virtues of nobility, honesty, and chivalry  He is strong and has the body of a warrior

CHRIS HEMSWORTH  His physical stature and appearance is very similar to that of Gawain’s  He is strong and powerful  He can easily portray Gawain’s virtues  He has also played similar roles, such as Thor in The Dark World and his part in The Avengers  His youth can bring a different perspective not only to the character of Gawain himself, but to the entire story as a whole as well

THE GREEN KNIGHT  He is transformed into Bercilak by the power of Morgan Le Fay in order to test King Arthur and his court  He is a mysteriously big, wild, and green man who can supernaturally survive beheadings as the knight  As Bercilak though, he seems to be a friendly and inviting man who opens up his home to Gawain  He hopes to test Gawain's loyalty and strength with his bargains

SHREK  Shrek would play a great Green Knight mainly because of his physical appearance: he is big, green, scary, and supernatural looking  He has played himself in Shrek the movie and seems to have some of the same virtues of the Green Knight himself  Shrek can really bring the character of the Green Knight to life because he is an ogre who can easily emphasize the most important aspects of the Green Knight himself

LADY BERCILAK  The beautiful wife of Lord Bercilak, or the Green Knight  She is strong, seductive, and more enchanting than Guinevere herself  She hopes to allure Gawain at the request of her husband, in order to break Gawain’s virtues

DAENERYS TARGARYEN (EMILIA CLARKE)  Emilia Clarke would be a great Lady Bercilak because she has the power of body and mind to portray such a seductive woman  She has experience acting in Game of Thrones as Daenerys Targaryen  Emilia Clarke could definitely transform the role of Lady Bercilak by bringing more youth and confidence to her character
