FUNction Project By: Corbin Foster

Corbin and his friends want to go to the movies to see “Vampires Suck.” If the movie tickets cost $8.25 a piece, then how much would it cost if four other friends want to go see Vampires Suck with Corbin. Real World Problem ! !

! ! The Equation My equation is- F(x)=8.25x Y=8.25x or X= the number of movie tickets Y= the total cost

Independent and Dependent My independent variable is the number of movie tickets or x. My dependent variable is the total cost or y. We know that y Depends on x. So the total cost Depends on the number of movie tickets.

Table of Value x 8.25 y (x,y) (1) 8.25 (1, 8.25) (2) (2, 16.50) (3) (3, 24.75) (4) (4, 33.00) (5) (5, 41.25)

Domain and Range D:{1, 2, 3, 4, 5} R:{8.25, 16.50, 24.75, 33.00, 41.25}

Is this a function? Yes. this equation is a function because the domain or x’s don’t repeat.

Thank you for watching my power point
