Video Active videoactive.eu is... –A growing collection of more than video clips online already. –Adding 25 clips each day on average (Goal: more than items in total). –Covering more than 34 topics. –Covering all television genres. –Multilingual: 10 European languages supported: Navigation in native languages. All items translated to English. Multilingual thesaurus enables search across language barriers.

Main structure 4 main entry points to the material: Via the front page. Via key topics in European history. Through five pathways (written material). Via the search functions: –Simple search. –Advanced search.

Search Results Filters –Use filters to refine search results. –Wherever there's a plus (+) you can expand the filter to get more options. –Filter only shows options within the search.

Search Results Keywords (thesaurus) –Words entered in simple or advanced search text fields also searches the thesaurus. –you can use e.g. the Danish term for animal (“dyr") and get results in any language, because animal is a thesaurus keyword. –Click on keywords to narrow down the search.

Search Results The items –A mouse-over function gives you more information about the item: The full title The title in English The owner. –Click on the keyframe or title to get to the actual clip.

Backend Keywords –the keywords are based on the ThesauriX platform. –Click on the + to get to narrower term. –Thesaurus terms (keywords) are translated into 10 European languages.
