Courthouse Green Network News Pupil voice at Courthouse Green is stronger than it has ever been! That means that YOU, the children of our school, get to have a BIG say in what happens in and around school. The CGNN team came up with a list of ways in which our pupils get the chance to help make decisions in school: Our highly commended Junior Leadership Team (they are elected by you to represent your views). Us at the CGNN! As reporters we get to help decide what goes in the school’s weekly newspaper. Our Learning Forums (these allow pupils to have a say about what they might be taught). Our bronze award winning Eco-council (these help make decisions about how we care for the school environment). In fact there were so many ways that we ran out of newspaper but there is also the Sports Leaders, the Anti-bullying Champions, the Head boy and girl, the Prefects …. What it means to you? In assembly last week the pupil leaders were announced and CGNN decided to ask them how they felt about being elected! When I was elected I was amazed since I didn’t know if I was going to be picked. I have never smiled so much. I was shaking and crossing my fingers because I wanted to be picked. Russell on being elected Head Boy. Romani on being elected Head Girl. I felt happy about being nominated for the JLT. I also feel more confident because people think I will do a good job. Happening in coventry A unexploded World War Two bomb was found in Chelseymore last week. Construction workers came across whist laying foundations for a new building. They quickly called the police who called the Bomb disposal team. The bomb disposal team then spent the day building up a huge wall of sandbags before detonated the bomb in a controlled explosion. Witnesses said that they could feel the shock waves even outside the ‘no-go’ zone and some people reported that car windows shattered because of the blast.
