Central Highlands Regional Library Corporation

About CHRLC  Central Highlands Regional Library Corporation provides library services to the City of Ballarat, Shire of Hepburn, Shire of Moorabool, Shire of Pyrenees, Ararat Rural City Council, Central Goldfields Shire and Southern Grampians Shire.  Branch libraries are located at Ararat, Avoca, Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Beaufort, Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford, Hamilton, Maryborough, Sebastopol and Wendouree.  Our mobile library provides services to areas without easy access to a branch library, and housebound services are provided for those who are unable to physically attend a library service point.

Reasons for Joining CECC  Statistics – Website acts as a branch.  IT staff responsible for all IT including the website, use CMS to release burden from IT.  Service reliability (support and connectivity).  Provide us options to improve aspects of library services through future online developments.  Improvement of Staff communication, since being spread across such a wide area.

So far..  Website and Intranet transferred across to CECC Servers.  Training in use of Content Builder, Resource Manager, Statistics.  Retrieving statistics that allows us to see how website performs as a branch.  Upgrade to latest product version.  Training in new features.

The Future…  Revamp of staff Intranet, introducing ideas gathered from observing other Organisations Intranet setups. To include more options staff contributions, trial some staff procedures online.  Revamp of CHRLC website. To include more options for staff to contribute to their various areas.  Means in which staff add information must be easy.  Development an online reference tool for Library Staff and Patrons.  And many more… Questions???
