Name of Museum Tutankhamun’s tomb could have been touched before in Ancient times by robbers that did not take much treasures. Tutankhamun’s tomb was buried in the Valley of the Kings. With a four room tomb that contained golden objects and army tools. Tutankhamun ruled from 1332 BCE to 1322 BCE. Tutankhamun ruled as king for half of his lifetime. The tomb of Tutankhamun is located in the Valley of the Kings by Thebes. Tutankhamun lived to around the age of 19. Tutankhamun was the pharaoh for around 9 years. Tutankhamun was buried in a four room tomb with various treasures. Archeologist Howard Carter was the man to find Tutankhamun’s tomb. The art on Tutankhamun's tomb helps prove that Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization. Introduction Back to Room 1

The first artifact in king Tut’s tomb that helped prove that Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization is Anubis. Anubis was the jackal god of embalming, Anubis guarded the entrance to the treasury. Anubis made the first mummy and showed how eternal life was possible for everyone. The second artifact in king Tut’s tomb that help prove that Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization is the gilded cow’s head. The gilded cow’s head represented the goddess Hathor. Egyptians believed Hathor was the guardian of the west. The third artifact in king Tut’s tomb that help prove that Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization was the golden shrine. The golden shrine once contained a statue of the king. This artifact had been stolen by tomb robbers.
