Basic Cell Structures Reading Calculate the % of points you earned on this assignment (#/9)x 100 = % Definitely revise assignments earning 79% or less Assistance today from 3-4pm Tuesday from 3-4pm

3.2 Q 3 What characteristic of eukaryotic cells gives them a greater capacity for specialization than prokaryotic cells have? Explain

3.3 Q 3 Would you expect skin cells to contain more or fewer mitochondria than muscle cells? Explain your reasoning

3.4 Q 3 How do the cell walls, chloroplasts, and vacuoles of plant cells illustrate the idea that cell structure mirrors cell function? Where to start: What do plant cells do? How do cell walls, chloroplasts and vacuoles help plants do this?

Who to test? With your partner, complete steps 5-7 For step 7, make the table on your notebook paper

Who to test? NameSymptoms? (yes/no) Disease Test Results Is this person a carrier? (yes/no)

Collecting Lab Evidence Read Reminder 8. Find the dropper bottle for ONE of the people you would like to test. Place 3 drops of the “saliva” sample onto a piece of labeled wax paper 9. Test the sample by adding 1 drop of Disease Indicator. Make sure the dropper does not touch the “saliva” 10. Record the results in the table you made on your notebook paper 11. Repeat steps 8-11 for the other people you are testing
