4 National Contact Point 1999: Appointed as the host organisation of the National Contact Point for Innovation and SMEs for the 5 th Framework Programme (5FP). 2002: Appointed again as the National Contact Point for the SMEs for the 6 th Framework Programme (6FP). Also: Scientific Coordinator of the Regional Innovation Strategy (RIS) project for Cyprus.

5 OBJECTIVES  Support of SMEs participation in Research, Technological Development and Innovation Programmes on a National or European level  Promotion and support of the exploitation of RTD results  Promotion and support of the deployment of national and community funding opportunities  Enhancement of Cyprus and European SMEs cooperation  Development of communication and cooperation links between Enterprises, Universities and Research Centres  Enhancement of the capabilities of enterprises to take up new technologies and know-how with an innovative content
