Market Update –ERCOT.com access to nodal pricing data –Prices: ICCP vs WebServices and User Displays Dashboards for Go-Live

Market Update –Nodal MIS is offline Oct 1-12 –Oct 12 th MIS comes back online with data for applicable markets being executed Digital certificate required to access Subset of validated dashboards (more details in later slides) –ERCOT.com will be activated for subset of pricing reports No digital certificate required

Prices: ICCP vs WebServices and User Displays –Concerns recently expressed from Board/PUCT leadership regarding “level-playing field” for price availability –ERCOT currently evaluating: Performance of current dashboard connected to reports/webservices –Measure the timing difference between price delivery Considering viability of creating an ICCP – MIS dashboard connection If ICCP/Web solution incompatible, potential consideration of an NPRR for removal of prices from ICCP (command/control/dispatch data only) –Recent issue that all prices still available via ICCP NPRR169 clarified delivery of LMPs for Reports/Web vs. ICCP Removed prices from ICCP except for Resource Node QSEs for their resource ICCP has not been aligned with this protocol change (will be considered in context of ICCP price delivery evaluation) –No current recommendation from ERCOT (in progress)

MIS Dashboard update –Requirements from TPTF 2008 used to develop (10/13/2008): System Ancillary Service Capacity Monitor SCED Up/Down Day-Ahead & Real-Time LMPs LMP Contour Map Load Forecast vs. Actual LMP Ticker Frequency DC Ties Weather This week ERCOT market staff engaging quality of data and evaluating if there are gaps –Note there were no requirements to transfer Zonal existing zonal displays – under consideration –Re-connecting ticker/graphs to LMPs from Electrical Buses to Load Zones, Resource Nodes, DC Tie Reports changed behind display impacting display –Contour map – evaluating population of points/location, quality of data, price sensitivity in display –Validating data behind load forecast –Evaluating all gaps/defects and then prioritizing for rapid delivery Plan for initial deployment Oct 12, and subsequent improvements prior to go-live Evaluating public deployment of dashboard (accessible via ERCOT.com) Design issues/concerns can be forwarded to: ; ;
