50 eyes of 25 patients were implanted with Bilateral ReSTOR IOL(SN6AD3) Manual keratometry,Oculus topography and Pentacam were done for keratometric reading while Ultrasound A scan was done with immersion technique using the Ocuscan. Conventional Phacoemulsification with 2.8mm incision was done. Incision was always put on the steep axis. Mean Pre op Refractive error was +1.8D.with astigmatism less than 0.75D. Mean age of this patients was 58.4 years Evaluated at Day’s

Mean post op spherical equivalent was +/- 0.6D. Binocular Distance vision was 20/30 or better in 48eyes(96%). 45 eyes(90%) had 20/20 unaided. Near Vision (Binocular) was J1 in 48eyes(96%).

22(88%) patients never wore glasses 2(8%) patients had to wear glasses for computers. 1 patients required additional surface procedure to correct the induced astigmatism.

1patient had clinically significant CME which required treatment. No other complications were encountered in this 2 year followup.

CONCLUSION: PRELEX is a safe and predictable alternative to alleviate the Presbyopia especially in the age group above 55 years. It is a refractive procedure which all Cataract surgeons can also do very safely.
