Crossroads for Women Mission: Crossroads for Women addresses substance abuse and other behavioral health issues so that women and their families can live healthy and independent lives. }Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, Short- and Long- Term Residential Treatment, Children and Mothers Programs, DEEP evaluations and treatment, and services for affected others. }Crossroads offers gender-specific treatment services to women eighteen years and older in the State of Maine. }Funding FY06: 55% MaineCare, 37% OSA, 8% Other. 66 Pearl Street Suite 326  Portland, ME  

Performance Improvement Goal }Goal: Decrease time between initial contact and assessment for Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient clients. }Implementation: Instead of scheduled appointments, walk-in appointments between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. for all clients from catchment area (1 to 1.5 hour drive to Portland). }Result: Decreased time between phone screen and assessment from 4 to 2 days.

Ramifications for Clients  Increase in admissions to IOP by 3  Decrease between phone screen and assessment for scheduled appointments from 5 to 3 days  Increased size of OSA waitlist (across all programs) from 23 to 30 clients  Increase in number of phone screens from catchment area from 20 to 40  Increase in number of assessments from catchment area from 4 to 18
