Frequently Asked Questions My students’ questions are what make the class interesting and informative. Students often learn more from discussing each other’s questions than from practicing in the book, so I expected that they will bring lots of questions to class each day. If everyone asks and thinks and shares ideas, the class will be not only educational, but also fun.

What is TOEFL? The Test of English as a Foreign Language Where and when can you take the TOEFL? The test is usually taken on a computer in a test center. Candidates may take the TOEFL only once a calendar month.

What Does the TOEFL Test Include? Section I: Listening Comprehension Section II: Speaking Section III: Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Section IV: Essay Writing

What's different about the test? The TOEFL iBT has a new Speaking section. There is no longer a Structure section. Lectures and conversations in the Listening section are longer. Note-taking is allowed The speech in the listening material sounds more natural. The Reading section has new questions. The Writing section requires typing.

Has the TOEFL score scale changed for Internet-based testing? Yes. The new score scale is shown here. Score Scale Section0-30Listening 0-30Reading 0-30Speaking 0-30Writing Total Score The total score is the sum of the four skill scores.

Where do you get a TOEFL bulletin? AMIDEAST and Expression maintain a supply of test bulletins with all pertinent information about the TOEFL, including the registration form.

Do the sample questions in the TOEFL bulletin. Visit the TOEFL Web site to see sample questions and tests.TOEFL Web site Purchase TOEFL preparation materials from AMIDEAST and Expression.(Optional)TOEFL preparation materials Take a test preparation class at AMIDEAST and Expression. (Optional) How do you prepare for the TOEFL?

What do you do on the day of the test? Arrive 30 minutes before the assigned test time. Check-in procedures take time. Bring photo bearing identification, as described in the TOEFL registration bulletin. Bring your test confirmation information.

The purpose of the TOEFL® test is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. The scores are required for purposes of admission by many worldwide colleges and universities. Exam Description

(15 seconds-prep/45 seconds- speak) “Describe a class you have taken in school and explain why the class was important to you. Include details and examples to support your explanation.” “Some universities require first-year students to live in dormitories on campus. Others allow students to live off campus.
