 Landing the perfect job can be a challenge, but with well thought out preparation, you can overcome this challenge.  Best in class interviewing techniques will help prepare you to have a successful job interviewing experience.

In this tutorial, you will:  Differentiate between which behaviors make a good versus bad first impression.  Identify pre-interviewing tasks to be completed in order to be fully prepared for an interview.  Label post-interviewing tasks.

 Dress for Success Men - black, navy blue, or gray suit, white shirt, and tie Women – black, navy blue, or gray pant or skirt suit Do not wear large jewelry, loud colors, too much make up or strong fragrance  Handshake Firm, but not bone crushing Stand up to shake hands (if able)  Make Eye Contact and Smile Make eye contact, but not to point where it can be creepy  Be On Time Arrive at least ten minutes early

 Avoid bad habits (The “Don’ts” during an interview.) Don’t over speak. Don’t interrupt. Don’t be too relaxed. Don’t stress salary and/or other benefits.  Use good judgment (The “Do’s” during an interview.) Ask questions when appropriate. Ask permission to take notes if needed. Take time to think about answer.
