Presentation transcript:

Macbeth was one of William Shakespeare’s best stories that takes place in Mideval Scotland. Macbeth was once was a general for his king but changed when the three wicked witches visited him to tell his prophecy. Soon he was thane of Cawdor but that wasn’t enough for him, for his prophecy changed him to be greedy, selfish, bloody murderer, and blinded ambition. This story that William Shakespeare has created had drama, treachery, mysterious, guilt, and revenge.

“Bear welcome in your eye, your head, your tongue: look like the innocent flower/ but be the serpent under’t” (Shakespeare 13). Like all marriages Macbeth and Lady Macbeth agree with each other on something and disagree on other thing. But since Macbeth wrote a letter to Lady Macbeth saying that the king was coming to stay over and have a dinner party, then come cross three witches they told Macbeth his Prophecy. Now Lady Macbeth is blinded by ambition to become queen and starts planning and provoked Macbeth to using his own blind ambition against himself. Overall in this relationship Lady Macbeth has the brains and the power to become queen. The meaning of the relationship is that Lady Macbeth is provoking Macbeth to do something that he doesn’t want to do but yet does it anyway. They are going through a power struggle with each other. They are fighting to take charge in the relationship which make a Corrupting Power of Unchecked Ambition.

“O, treachery! Fly, good Fleance, fly, fly, fly! / Thou mayst revenge, O slave’’ (Shakespeare 40). unexpected power Macbeth and Banquo were close friends but now Banquo got betrayed by Macbeth’s blinded ambition since the witches tell Banquo his Prophecy that Banquo’s son Fleance will be fit to wear the crown upon his head. Now Macbeth mistreated his power to murder his best friend out of blind ambition. The relationship that Macbeth and Banquo was in fact unexpected that blind ambition can make do things to hurt ones you love, but their friendship was something more beautiful then anything before like two friends acting like brother with each other, Until Macbeth became greedy with power and do anything to keep his crown upon his head. Because Macbeth seen Banquo as a threat to his crown, the only thing Macbeth can do is to kill Banquo. Macbeth felt unsafe knowing that Banquo was the only person who knew about the prophecy that the witches told them, Macbeth thought Banquo would do something to make Macbeth loose his crown and his title.

“ Come, you spirits That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe” (Shakespeare 12). I think that Lady Macbeth and Duncan has a father and daughter relationship between each other, because Lady Macbeth looked up to the king Duncan like a father figure to her. The relationship is that Lady Macbeth is a victim of blind ambition to become queen, and it so happened that the king is the target of her plan. In the play it seems that Lady Macbeth can see her father’s face in the king which means she wanted Macbeth to kill him instead of her so she provoked Macbeth to do her dirty work. This is important because you wouldn’t expect to kill someone that reminds you of your father. The theme is power and blind ambition which Macbeth made Lady Macbeth become after reading the letter that Macbeth has sent to her, And wanting the spirits to take her famine side from her and to bold like a man to do the things she wants to do, to continue with the plan to move forward in the future. only power can make you look like a innocent flower but be a deadly serpent under it.

“ I have done the deed. Didst thou not her a noise?” (Shakespeare 22) After the three witches told Macbeth his Prophecy he was crowned Thane of Cawdor But the witches also said to Macbeth that he will be thane of Cumberland. The king Duncan crowned his eldest son Malcolm Prince of Cumberland. Macbeth has a new target and it is Malcolm to take the title from him but for now Lady Macbeth provoked him to kill the king to take the title. The relationship that Macbeth was a loyal soldier who betrays his own king to claim a title that isn't rightful his. A power struggle to own something that isn't yours and blind ambition to betray everything and anyone that you know and love.
