But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith

We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.

I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

“I WANT TO KNOW CHRIST” Not just intellectually. I want to know him from the inside. I want to experience Jesus intimately. I want to know from the inside that resurrected life. I want to know from the inside God’s life coming into ours;

I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

SUFFERING simply by being human because of being a kingdom of God person, a follower of Jesus

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

God : Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in this beautiful, loving dance that goes on throughout eternity, and we are invited to join in that dance.

I want to know Christ – yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

THE END OF WORLD HISTORY our bodies will be raised from the dead, the kingdom of God will come in fullness, God will correct everything that’s wrong in creation, His kingdom will reign forever and ever, we shall reign with him.

what is left, is what reflects the character of God, what puts God’s love unambiguously on display

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
