2 CILEA e-Publishing Architectures Established in 1974, CILEA is a non- profit organization pooling nine Lombard Universities. CILEA provides Information and Communication Technology services on behalf of universities and related organizations, public organizations and enterprises. It employs > 100 people with IT specialization

3 CILEA e-Publishing Architectures AePIC, Academic E-Publishing Infrastructures CILEA, born in 2003, Some activities: open archives (repositories) for full-text documents (e.g. e-prints), archives for dissertations and didactic materials (e.g. handbooks, exercise books, slides, etc.) portals for digital libraries, integration of OAI- PMH and Z39.50 resources, integration of OpenURL resolvers e-publishing platforms for journals and monograph series repositories for digitalized works (e.g. collections of images)

4 CILEA e-Publishing Architectures Some achievements: PLEIADI, the "Portal for the Italian Electronic Literature in Open and Institutional Archives", in collaboration with CASPUR PLEIADI E-LIS, E-prints in Library and Information Science, the largest international disciplinary open archive for LIS published and grey literature, using EPrints software. E-LIS Earth-prints, E-prints in Geophysics and Volcanology, using DSpace software. Earth-prints
