Presentation transcript:

The First Step The first step in learning number sense should be to memorize the PERFECT SQUARES from 1 2 = 1 to 40 2 = 1600 and the PERFECT CUBES from 1 3 = 1 to 25 3 = These squares and cubes should be learned in both directions. ie = 289 and the 289 is 17.

Perhaps making yourself flash cards will help the process of memorization.

Perfect squares & cubes Drill Depending on how much you would like to practice, number your notebook paper 1 thru 134. For the next slides you will have 6 seconds per slide. Try doing the questions mentally.

At any point you want to stop, go to the very end of this presentation to check your answers. Award yourself 5 points for every correct answer. Deduct 4 points for every wrong answer, scratched out answer, skipped problem, and problem you had scratch work.

Perfect squares & cubes Drill The highest possible score will be 500, the lowest The more you practice the better you will get! Have FUN!!
