DOROTHEA LANGE May 26,1865 – October,1965

BIO Dorothea was born on May 26,1895 and died at age 70 on October 11, She died of esophageal cancer. She had two husbands in a life time, two children, three stepchildren, and numerous grandchildren – and great grandchildren. Dorothea studied at Columbia University. In December 1935, Dorothea divorced her first husband Nixon and married Paul Taylor. Her photos are based on Haunting, war, and mostly labors. With the onset of the Great Depression, Dorothea turned her camera lens from the studio to the streets.
