WAR and WARCRAFT By: Nick Sc. And Tyler G.

During the Middle Ages the weaponry that was used was very vast, they also had many strategies and armor.  They included swords, full body suits and, difficult battle tactics.

WEAPONRY  Some of the weapons used during the middle ages included axes, swords, bow and arrows (including the crossbow), cannons, spears, and shields.  The weapons were mainly used for man to man combat.  Cannons were used usually only during the beginning of a battle mainly for their inaccuracy and lengthy reload time.  To the right is a set of medieval weapons.  To the lower right is a medieval crossbow the most sophisticated weapon of its time.

MEDIEVAL FIGHTING STRATIGES  The medieval war strategies were mainly based on rushing into battle and killing as many of the other side before falling as the others.  If a retreat was initiated then it was usually very disorganized and many men were trampled to death.  The rankings in the military started as in charge were the knights followed by the heavy Calvary then the light Calvary then was the infantry.  To the right is a picture of a medieval battle.

ARMOR  The armor used during the middle ages was usually made out of steel and chainmail. Under the armor they wore a soft padding to cushion the very heavy armor.  Everyone even the horses had protective armor. One problem with the armors helmet was it caused your vision to be extremely low.  To the right is a medieval knight in full armor.

MEDIEVAL PHOTO GALLERY  In this picture you can see a medieval cannon.  The cannons were large and heavy making them difficult to move to different positions.

MEDIEVAL PHOTO GALLERY  In this picture you can see a medieval infantryman usually armed with a sword and a shield, or a spear.
