Presentation transcript:

Proposal: staged delivery of Scheduler and OpSim V1 (2016) meet most of the SRD requirements – Deliver a system that can be extended with an improved scheduler and provides the framework to develop and test the metrics and appropriate cost functions by end of 2016 – Enable division of work between T&S and SysEng with T&S delivering a scheduler system and Sims providing the framework to optimize the system – Can be managed by T&S and SysEng without too much overlap

Proposal for development 6/1/14 – 9/1/14 – Hire simulations software engineer – Cadence workshop and MAF – Evaluate OpSim outputs with current metrics 9/1/14 - 1/1/15 – Design telemetry interfaces and the pub sub model (ICDs) – Modify OpSim to produce telemetry inputs – Workshop on optimization of telescope schedules 1/1/15 – 6/1/15 – Implement V1 of scheduler in the OCS and sequencer using the current OpSim greedy algorithm – Validate algorithm against OpSim – Release OpSim to community (installation and running)

Timeline 6/1/15 – 9/1/15 – Release v1 of validated scheduler (meeting SRD) – Implement metric functions as delivered by the science collaborations 9/1/15 – 9/1/16 – Implement V2 of scheduler logic
