Procedure  Factor like normal  Set the first set of parenthesis equal to 0  Set the second set of parenthesis equal to 0  Solve both equations

Example 1 - Starting Simple (me)  (x+3)(x-7)=0

Example 2 (you)  (3x – 9)(x + 2)=0

Example 3 (me)  FACTOR x 2 – x = 12

Example 4 (you)  FACTOR x 2 – 12x + 36 = 0

Example 5 (you)  FACTOR 9x = -24x
