4 Ways to Solve a Quadratic Equation  Graphing  Factoring  Completing the Square  Using the Quadratic Formula

 MAGIC  Multiple  Add/subtract to get your middle terms  Group terms  If inside parenthesis work, bring them to the front and group the other two in parenthesis  Check you work Review of Factoring

Procedure  Factor like normal  Set the first set of parenthesis equal to 0  Set the second set of parenthesis equal to 0  Solve both equations

Example 1 - Starting Simple (me)  (x+3)(x-7)=0

Example 2 (you)  (3x – 9)(x + 2)=0

Example 3 (me)  FACTOR x 2 – x = 12
