Trusting God in all circumstances King David wrote, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:3-5)

Knowing the love and faithfulness of God helps us to continually walk in victory and to trust God at all times

Today I will be looking at one of Jesus miracles and what we can learn from this account in the gospel of Mark (Jesus feeding the Four Thousand)

When we look at the life of Jesus we see God’s love and concern for us Jesus Himself said, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?” (John 14:9) “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.” (John 14:11)

In the gospel of John we read, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:1-2) “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

So when we look at the life of Jesus in the gospels, we see God’s love and compassion for us and His ability to perform the miraculous in our life. We can therefore trust God at all times.

We can learn much from the bible account of the feeding of the four thousand by Jesus. We will now look at this account verse by verse. “In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples to Him and said to them, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat.” (Mark 8:1-2)

From these two verses of Scripture we can see that God has a: Great love for all people (John 3:16) A Great concern about our every need in life, and That He continually wants the best for all people The bible makes it clear that God is love: In 1 John 4:8 we read, “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

IN VERSE 3 WE READ, “And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.” (Mark 8:3) In this verse we see that, God is very much concerned about our welfare That God knows everything about our life That He is aware of what we need in life, and That He is willing to meet our every need in life

Then in verse 4 of Mark Chapter 8 we read, “Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?” (Mark 8:4) -So often we can look at our circumstances only with a rational mind and as a result limit what God wants to do in our life (We need to be people of faith) -At times if we take our focus off the Lord our problems can appear in the natural to be impossible -HOWEVER the bible makes it clear that “For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37)

-Here in verse 4 the disciples were looking in the natural. There were no shops or markets in the wilderness to BUY bread and food so they could see no way of feeding the 4,000 in the wilderness -We must simply look to and trust the LORD in all circumstances and learn to just do what Jesus tells us to do. It is then that we will begin to see the miracles in our own life

In the book of Hebrews we read, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Jesus Himself said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)

It is during our wilderness experiences that we are more likely to get discouraged if we take our eyes off Jesus and off God’s promises in His Word But we can be assured that we have a God who hears and answers our prayers. In 1 John we read, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15)

Then in verse 5 we read, “He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.” (Mark 8:5) - We must learn to step out with what we have - When God calls us to step out to do something for Him, it is as we move that God begins to move and we see the miracles in our life - When we give what we have (our time, our talents and our resources) we see God blessing and multiplying what we have and do (Ephesians 3:20)

Then in verses 6-9 we read, 6 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude. 7 They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them. 8 So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments. 9 Now those who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away,” (Mark 8:6-9)

Here we see, Not only God’s willingness to help us but His incredible ability to help us even in situations that in the natural are impossible That we serve a good and generous (more than enough) God - There were seven large baskets of leftover fragments of food That we have a God in whom we can depend upon to meet our every need in life

I will finish with the words of Jesus, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ Or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:31-33)
