Brainstorming on the field model: MAS activities P. Hagen, E. Todesco, J.P. Koutchouk CERN, 24 h March 2006 Field quality Working Group

Field model activities in MAS March P. Hagen et al, AT-MAS-MA2 WISE: generating input for MAD By P. Hagen, with some help of JPK and ET Aim Downloading magnetic measurements at 1.9 K and at room temperature Downloading misalignments Generating a MAD input file with magnet errors Missing information or uncertainties are randomly generated One can generate several input files to evaluate errors to be associated to beam dynamic estimates of parameters The WISE code

Field model activities in MAS March P. Hagen et al, AT-MAS-MA3 Features Language: Excel Generation of missing information Missing cold measurements: random generation of correlations Missing warm measurements (magnets not yet built): random generation of magnetic field Missing allocation: random assignments of slots Uncertainties are randomly generated (calibration, power supply) Status First test version available Downloaded magnetic measurements: MB, MQ, MQX, MQM, MQW Other magnets and geometry still not implemented Large effort needed for debugging Check of magnetic measurements data Check of the code itself Used for Chamonix, estimate of beta beating The WISE code
