Background CleanMed - October 2002 Amerinet Statistics - Approximately 800 Contracted Suppliers - Representing over 1000 Contracts EPP Contract Identification Amerinet’s EPP program initiated in 2003 Amerinet recognized as H2E Champion for Change in October 2003

Support of H2E Amerinet has supported and promoted H2E in many of their initiatives Direct links to H2E website 95 Amerinet members are now recognized as H2E Partners Developed a Supplier Qualification Survey to ensure potential EPP suppliers can easily appear on the Amerinet contracting radar screen for potential contracts and bid opportunities

Environmental Commitment Amerinet supports a healthy environment -Comprehensive portfolio of products and services in the environmentally friendly product arena -Choice to select contracted suppliers who meet facilities requirements relative to patient care -Provide direct information and links to data sources of EPP information -Continually review and evaluate new environmentally friendly products and services which may be added to our portfolio

Current Commitments Continue to identify and highlight Amerinet contracts which have EPP properties/components Provide information and resources to educate our membership on EPP products/services or alternatives, allowing individual facilities to make an informed decision which is best for their patients Continually Review and Evaluate new EPP products and services Continue internal education on EPP product alternatives

GPO Challenges Amerinet is a facilitator/provider of information - Best role is member education on EPP issues - No hospital ownership Lack of control over facility purchasing decisions, our members insist on having the choice to make their own purchasing decision Continuing our EPP education Politics of healthcare - New EPP supplier’s - Contract Pricing differences Suppliers resistance to disclose product components or develop EPP alternatives
