Who created the microphone ? By : Taylor Wilson

Invention of the microphone!!! The term “Microphone” was first used by Sir Charles Weatstone in 1827, to describe the transducers. Even though he was the first to say microphone he did not invent the microphone. In 1876 Emile Berliner invented the first ever microphone. Which created the way for many more to come.

Why did they create the microphone? The microphone is a device for converting acoustic power into electric power that has similar wave characteristics. Emile Berliner created the microphone to use as a telephone voice transmitter. when they first created the microphone the only people that used it were people that were the people that worked in telephone businesses.

Some of The different microphones over the years Some of The different microphones over the years This is a Neumann U87 condenser microphone, these were used on the radio. In 1910 The first high quality condenser microphone was developed by E.E Wente He is using a ribbon microphone. They were invented n the 1920s by Walter H. Schottky and Erwin Gerlach for the radio This s inside a condenser microphone This is a carbon microphone. They were used on telephones. The carbon microphone was created in 1878 by David Edward Hughes. This is the shotgun microphone. They were commonly used on television and film sets. The digital interface is still used today in recording studios During the 1970s dynamic made they had a more clearer recording. This is a picture of one used in the 1980s and 90s.

What was the microphone used for… Microphones were used for a lot of different things. For example….. Telephones Television Film sets Recording studios Radio broadcasting Performing on stage For the intercom n schools and clothing stores And etc… the microphone is used for variety of things

How microphones bettered society The microphone betters society because it lets people be able to hear your voice when talking. Without the microphone you will not be able to…. perform in large crowds cause they wont be able to hear you. Record songs in a studio Wont be able to hear the person when you on your web cam. When taking or watching a video you wont be able to hear what's playing. There are many things that are involved with the microphone and we wont be able to live with out it.

Modern microphone vs. the original … The microphones we use today have really improved over the years. Modern microphones are now digital and some are wireless. They have low or no sound level sensitivity and have clearer recording. The original microphone had a lot of complications. It was hard for you to hear people. They were very sensitive as well. Therefore, our technology allowed us to improve it but still maintain the purpose.

How the microphone has to do with what we learning in technology The invention and history of microphones has a lot t do with what we learn in technology. This because technology is improving the capability of humans. The microphone has improved the way we be able to hear ourselves. In technology we are learning different types of technology and its history. We learn how technology betters society and this invention has bettered society in many ways.

Why is it important ? Microphones are important because we are able speak louder than we already can. Life would be completely different without microphones. We need microphones because we is it in so many different ways and for many different businesses.

Positive or negative effect ? The microphone has a positively impact, not a negative effect. This is because it was created to be use to improve phones but it has done more than just that it is has improved other things. Microphones are one of the few inventions of technology that can only better us.
