Green Screen Photography Purpose of Teaching This Topic: Green screen photography is being used more and more in schools and the photography industry. At our school, we use green screen photography for a variety of school events, such as the news, Mathlympics, etc, and recreating school photos when a student has missed on picture day. Our presentation will cover taking green screen photos and manipulating them to add a completely different background. Experience We’ve had no experience teaching this topic as of the time we are submitting this for judging. However, we will be teaching this to our STLP team and to our school Help Desk in the upcoming months before competition. Misc. Tips Be sure you have proper lighting. Bad lighting will destroy a green screen photo. Make sure the person being photographed is not wearing any shade of green or you will have a picture with a person’s head and hands, but no body. Make sure the green screen is completely under the person being photographed and tall enough behind the person to not cut off their head. Make sure your green screen fabric is free of wrinkles or the picture will show black streaks where there were wrinkles. Tips Be sure you have proper lighting.
