As Americans we say the pledge, but do we really know what the words of the pledge mean? You will learn what they mean from this slide show!

-a piece of fabric used as a symbol to represent a country
-a group of States that were made as one nation
-a continent of the northern hemisphere
-a government having a chief of state, or president, not a monarch
-to represent something or someone
-a group of people made up of more than one nationality but has one government
-the being perfect in power, wisdom and goodness
-not divisible--cannot be divided
-the quality, or state of being free
-the quality of being just and fair to all people
-the whole amount
Now we know the meaning of the words in the Pledge of Allegiance, let’s say it with feeling.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One Nation Under God. Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all.
