My state is Illinois.

 Illionis came from the word Illini.  The people are called Illinoisan.

 12,419,293 fifth most populous state

 The flag has a white background with the state seal in the center.  There is a bald eagle on a rock with a shield in its claws and a ribbon in his beak.

The purple violet is my state flower. The state tree is the white oak. The state bird is called the cardinal.

The state insect is the Monarch Butterfly. The state fish is called a blue gill.

 They grow corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, barley, rye, sorghum.  They raise cattle.  They do manufacturing and mining.

 President Ronald Reagan was born in Illinois in 1911.
