UNCLASSIFIED Army Public Health Center (Provisional) 6 Army Public Health Center DCoS-Public Health Directorates System for Health, Ready and Resilient, Public Health, and Veterinary Services DCoS-PH MEDCOM’s lead to promote health and prevent disease, injury and disability of Soldiers, military retirees, their families, veterans, and DA civilian employees; oversee execution of full spectrum veterinary service for Army and DoD veterinary missions; with the authority of the TSG at HQDA and MEDCOM levels, within the assigned scope of proponency, execute TSG responsibilities in support of Army Public Health. DCoS PH consists of one field operating activity—Army Public Health Center (APHC) and four directorates – System for Health, Ready and Resilient, Public Health, and Veterinary Services. Mission: Public Health planning, strategy, policy and guidance promulgation, and oversight across the Army and MEDCOM. Functions: Oversee program development, document staffing, resourcing and execution of existing and emerging PH programs and issues throughout MEDCOM Provide timely HQDA/MEDCOM level staff actions and support to the OneStaff Develop and disseminate public health policy and in implementing guidance or directives to govern the Army public health mission, to include the DoD veterinary mission Oversee quality assurance of public health programs Oversee the Army Support to Other Services (ASOS) veterinary services mission Participate in AMEDD, Army and DoD working groups, committees, integrated process teams and advisory groups that develop and address execution of public health policy to advocate and advance AMEDD goals and objectives Primary interface with Defense Health Agency (Public Health Division) Identify and address emerging public health issues DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF-PUBLIC HEALTH (DC O S-PH) Mission: Promote healthy people, communities, animals, and work places through the prevention of disease, injury and disability of Soldiers, military retirees, their families, veterans, DA civilian employees, and animals through studies, surveys and technical consultations. (Promote Health Readiness) Functions: Provides operational and strategic services & expertise to the Army and DoD Assists the DCoS-PH Directorates in the development and oversight of PH programs, products, and services Conducts technical studies, surveys, and consultative services Monitors, evaluates, and reports quality on PH programs Assists the DCoS-PH Directorates in developing PH policy and guidance Participates in AMEDD, Army, DoD, and national/international technical working groups, committees, integrated process teams and advisory groups to advocate and advance AMEDD goals and objectives In collaboration with RHCs, evaluate regional PH programs Oversees Non-appropriated Fund Management and Business Practice Operations for Veterinary Treatment Facilities across the DoD Facilitates the development, procurement, and sustainment of standardized PH equipment and supplies across the enterprise Conducts recurring and periodic training for RHC, regional PHC, and MTF Maintains central archive for all PHE related technical deliverables and reports
