 The way was prepared for God’s Son to do the Father’s will (1:1-13).  Jesus began His ministry in Galilee with growing popularity (1:14-45).  Controversy began to unfold as Jesus revealed who He is through His miracles and teaching (2:1 – 3:35).  Parables of Jesus amplified the Jews’ hardness of heart (4:1-34).  Who is this Man with such great power? (4:35-41)

 Healing of a man possessed with many demons named Legion (5:1-20).  Healing of a woman who had hemorrhaged for 12 years (5:21-34).  Raising of Jairus’ daughter from death (5:35-43).

 Jesus was rejected by hometown folks (6:1-6).  The apostles were sent out to preach repentance (6:7-13).  King Herod thought beheaded John the Baptist was risen from the dead (6:14-29).  The twelve returned (6:30-32).

 Jesus fed the multitude with more than bread alone (6:33-44).  Jesus walked on water (6:45-52).  People everywhere knew Jesus was a great healer (6:53-56).

 True defilement emanates from the heart of man, not unwashed hands (7:1-23).  Jesus healed a Gentile woman’s daughter (7:24-30).  A healing of a deaf mute (7:31-37).  Miraculously feeding of another multitude (8:1-10).

 Pharisees debated with Jesus for Him to do a sign (8:11-12).  Lack of understanding blinded even disciples about Pharisees’ leaven (8:13-21).  Healed a blind man at Bethsaida (8:22-26).  “Who do you say that I am?” (8:27-30)

 Jesus’ compassion moved Him to ease the suffering of men (5:1-43).  Unbelief caused many to reject the true identity of Jesus in spite of His mighty works (6:1-56).  The gulf between Jesus and the Jewish leaders widened (7:1 – 8:30).
