Mfg/Pro - Purchasing Definition  A Purchase Order is a contract with an outside supplier to purchase an amount of a particular product at a known price, due to be delivered on a specified date.

Mfg/Pro - Purchasing Purchase Requisition  It is the first step of purchasing cycle.  A Purchase Order (PO) is made with reference to the authorized Purchase Requisition

Mfg/Pro - Purchasing Activity List  The activities which are done on day to day basis.  Based on the activity list the day wise schedule will be prepared for study of the existing process of each unit.

Mfg/Pro - Purchasing Study Methodology  Study of the existing process will be in detail. By interviewing the process champions of each unit of their existing business activities. This is called as AS- IS Process Study.  The study will involve the questions related to the business process, the documents flow from one department to another department and also the documents going outside the factory.  To display the reports generated from current existing system on daily/monthly basis.  Study will be documented.

Mfg/Pro - Purchasing Modeling  Modeling will be done by mapping the business process activities to the existing Mfg/Pro System.  Reports which are generated from the existing system will also be mapped to the Mfg/Pro system.  During Modeling relevant data ’ s will be collected like Item Master, Supplier Master etc ….

Mfg/Pro – Purchasing Modeling (Contd ….)  The model in Mfg/Pro will be discussed with process owners. In the discussion the process owners will come to know about the model in the New Scenario.

Mfg/Pro - Purchasing Training  General Training will be conducted on purchase model as well as related masters and control files after modeling.  At the time of training exercises will be given to familiarize the users in Purchase model

Mfg/Pro - Purchasing CRP  After modeling there will be one round of Acceptance testing from the users. This is called Conference Room Pilot (CRP).  If any changes in the model the same will be incorporated at this stage.

Mfg/Pro - Purchasing Go-Live  Pre-Migration Activity  All the data like open orders, stock has to be migrated to the new system.
