Old Business Initial meetings: Recruitment at both Jr. Highs and High School. Returning member meeting held by the captains. Categories: Coach meetings and captain meetings have been held to plan changes and make decisions for the season.

New Business High Competition Tournament Schedule Coaching Structures What it is What is expected How to be involved Tournament Schedule Coaching Structures Category Choice Practice Scheduling Team Leadership Positions Parent Boosters Captains’ Report

What is “High Competition?” Honoring different levels of commitment and achievement. Majority of the team will remain the same. 8-10 students - very high commitment and expectations. Everyone else will continue on as we have been. “Varsity” was the wrong word choice. Everyone is varsity. This small group will be considered “High Competition.”

What is Expected of High Competition? Two practices a week -one with category coach and one with Tabke/Evenson. Run your piece every day (we’ll be able to tell). Piece written/cut with introduction before the first practice. Code of Conduct/Maturity Risk Taking No arguments or excuses. Competition at high level meets and Nat.Quals. G.P.A

That sounds awesome!!! How do I sign up??? Sign up for an audition to be held next week: At auditions you will need to have 2 min. of your piece prepared with an introduction. If you are in a current research category, you need to have a statement including what sources you have been keeping up with, what you think will be high priority topics of research for this season, and your opinions on each of these. A signed “Code of Conduct” Form. We will let you know who has made High Competition at next weeks meeting. From there, if you have been accepted, you will work with Mrs. Tabke and I to schedule a practice time.
