What is BBBC Water Sanitation? BBBC Water Sanitation is a company dedicated to offering the citizens of Turkmenbasy, Turkmenistan clean healthy water. The goal of the company is to take water of the Caspian Sea and once sanitized, disperse it throughout the city of Turkmenbasy. The idea behind our company is to begin in a largely populated city near the sea and slowly begin to spread inland to other major cities and towns. BBBC will divert the current water supply from the AmuDarya River to the Caspian Sea offering a healthier alternative to water and hygiene.

Water Supply of Turkmenistan (Percentage) (%)

Water Supply of Turkmenistan Continues from last chart…

Current water sanitation technologies are not advanced enough to endure the extreme weather conditions of the country. Turkmenistan lacks a vital water supply with 80-90% of the country covered by dessert. The AmuDarya River is the main supply of water currently supplying 90% of the country. The water of the AmuDarya River is a vital risk for human health. Water Problems of Turkmenistan

The first meeting with a Turkmenistan company or government official is generally not business-focused. Turks prefer to do business with those they know, they expect to spend time building a personal relationship before doing business. Businessmen are not remove their suit jacket without permission. Do not look at your watch or try to rush the meeting. Men should wear dark colored conservative business suits. Ties are not worn by Turkmen but it would not be seen as wrong if you did. Women should always dress respectfully and cover their hair

It takes time for Turkmen to become warm towards foreign businesspeople. Until then, they may appear fairly formal. Personal relationships form the basis of business dealings. Decisions are made slowly. Turkmen are deliberate negotiators who can drive a hard bargain. Do not use high-pressure tactics. Turkmen may walk out of the meeting or threaten to end the relationship in an attempt to convince you to change a position. They will use time as a negotiating tactic, especially if they know that you have a deadline. Don’t let your business partners know that you are under a timeline. Companies are hierarchical. Decisions are made at the top of the company, either by a CEO/ president or a small council.

Robert Baylis CEO 19 Homesteader Lane West Haven, CT Phone: (203) Business cards are only exchanged by top level employees. Since rank and position are most important, make sure your business card includes your title. Have one side of your card translated into Farsi enabling non- American readers to understand and translate. Always present your card so the Farsi side faces the recipient. BBBC Water Sanitation B³C

Ethical Challenges Most of Turkmenistan is Muslim. Therefore, it is a good idea to avoid scheduling meetings during Ramadan because the need to fast would preclude your business colleagues from offering you hospitality. Not offering food and drink to business partners is considered bad negations and relations Turkmenistan does indeed have child labor laws although they are not always followed. Children under the age of 16 cannot work. This law will be followed by BBBC Water Sanitation. Both men and women work in the workforce but for the most part women work in the rural areas of the country and more men take the urban jobs. The country currently has no minimum wage laws. All employees will be treated equally and the way they would as though the higher employment was too Muslim following almost all cultural aspects.

Employed Labor Force by Sex and Area (percentage) (%)

BBBC Water Sanitation will bring job opportunities to locals and people in the area. The current state of water in Turkmenistan is a risk to the health of all who drink it. Our company and our state of the art plant will help change this problem offering a healthy alternative to the citizens of Turkmenbasy, Turkmenistan. BBBC will use to water from the Caspian Sea unlike the majority of the water supply currently coming from ground water and AmuDarya River. The water here poses much less health risks compared to the current ways.
