Digital Citizenship – 9 Themes Olivia Dayman

Digital Access is for everyone to be able to access technology. Everyone is equal and should all have the right to access technology. It should allow poor people to access technology as well. An example would be children in third world countries being able to access technology. Digital Access

Digital Communication Digital communication is finding ways to communicate through technology. Many people use ways to communicate through digital communications. My favorite way is by texting. An example of digital communication would be ing.

Digital Literacy Digital literacy is being able to communicate or find information by different sources of technology. Digital Literacy is basically how well you know technology and being able to tell what is real and what is fake on the Internet. An example of digital literacy would be knowing a safe website to a non-safe website.

Digital Security and Safety Digital Security and Safety involves you being safe on the Internet. How much information are you comfortable sharing through the world wide web? And the crazy people reading all that. Making sure you are safe is number one and you shouldn’t trust everyone on the internet. An example of digital security and safety would be not putting your credit card number out on the internet.

Digital Etiquette is all about how you act on the internet. Are you nice and always calling people down? Or are you mean and stirring up trouble? Make sure you come off as a nice person on the internet because remember they can’t see your face. And remember don’t swear on the internet because your grandma could see that!! An example of digital etiquette would be using proper language on the internet.

Digital Rights and Responsibilities Digital rights and responsibilities is making the internet a better place for everyone to enjoy. It’s a bunch of rules applied to be used on the internet. No online bullying or fraud. And you should always report online bullies or threats. An example of digital rights and responsibilities would be being yourself and not pretending to be someone else.

Digital Law Digital law is following the rules on the internet and going by the rules. It is pretty much what you are and are not allowed to do on the internet. An example of digital law would be NOT hacking websites.

Digital Health and Wellness Digital Health and wellness is keeping teenagers healthy and safe while being on the internet. Many teenagers are not aware of all the hazards and predators on the internet and should learn these things incase anything bad happens. An example of health and wellness would be not putting your contact and address information on the internet.

Digital Commerce Digital Commerce is the buying and selling of online shopping. You should always be aware of the bad things that could happen when online shopping like being ripped off and the person being untrustworthy. You should always check to make sure that the site you are on is a safe site so you don’t get ripped off or give out personal info to predators. An example of digital commerce is being ripped off on the internet.
