Pregame Duties Coaches’ Meeting –Introduction of Officials –Captains Name and # –Win Coin Toss- Choices –All Players legally equipped –Any unusual plays or formations –Coaching staff responsible for sideline control

Pregame Duties –Adornments –Heat Time-outs –Game balls –Set Time with coach –Captains at 5 minutes prior to kick-off –Do you (coach) have any questions for us –We will go out on the field at 6:00PM

Pregame Duties continued Spot check players’ equipment All officials Check and or mark game balls R & U will do when we do our walk around Identify medical staff Instruction of chain crew L is responsible Pre –Game Restricted Area- BJ, FJ, SJ, LJ Instruction of ball boys SJ & FJ will give instructions to ball boys

Pregame Duties continued Instruction for timer(s) Follow direction of field officials do not anticipate Inspection of field R & U after coaches’ conference Observe team warm-ups- Restricted Area Cleared LJ/FJ- press box side at 45s and hash BJ/SJ-opposite press box side at 45s and hash All officials for adornments, pants below knees, towels, long belts, etc

Pregame Duties continued Coin Toss Procedures First half procedures FJ get home team captains LJ keep H team off field (may stay in end zone ) SJ get visiting team captains BJ keep V visiting team off field (may stay in end zone) U introduces V captains to R / R introduces H captains to U Second half procedures Same as first ECO put 3 minutes on at end of half for warm-up period.

Pregame Duties continued Field Timing SJ has all timing situation except for 25 sec. clock BJ has 25 sec. clock TV games, the wing official nearest the Red Hat will assist with TV time out

Game Duties Free Kicks Positions R, U, L, LJ, FJ, SJ, BJ, Timer (on Field), Chain Crew Instructions to teams Restraining lines FJ will watch kicker kick the ball off the tee, to see if it hit the ground first

Game Duties Free Kicks Count players U – Check with FJ, SJ, BJ R – Check with L & LJ and U Starting clock Covering official nearest to the ball and R will echo

Game Duties Free Kicks Momentum into end zone R - responsibility Touchback R - responsibility Untouched kick out of bounds L or LJ with drop their flag SJ or FJ will get coaches choice
