9ITT-Technical Institute, Torrance Pro Arguments It is unethical to test the side-effects of drugs on human beings. Humans that use medicine derived from animal research are healthier. Animals receive better care due to advances in veterinary medicine. 10 X more animals are used by humans for other purposes: agriculture, hunting, pest control, than in animal testing. 150 million large mammals are used in agriculture each year. Over 7 million dogs/cats euthanised in animal shelters each year, 1 million animals are killed each day by automobiles.
