Mr. Aldous’ Social Studies Literacy Class Plan Week of 9/14 – 9/18 AND 9/28 after Fall Break

PURPOSE FOR LEARNING We are finishing the background preparations on the life of Napoleon Bonaparte in preparation for our Document-Based Question Unit (DBQ). The DBQ is What Made Napoleon and Hitler Succeed Beyond Their Wildest Dreams and Fail Beyond Their Worst Nightmares? What We’ve Accomplished Thus Far: The students have in their notebooks a chapter on the life of Napoleon called The Last Conqueror. They also have an accompanying guided notes packet called Napoleon 5 Ws (who, what, why, where, when, etc.) In class, we have done the work although some of it should’ve been finished for homework. This week, we will be making visual story boards on the life of Napoleon as we view selections from the PBS documentary.
