YOUR PROJECT Using cardboard, you will create a stabile in the style of Alexander Calder. Think about some airplane models and how the pieces fit together. Once you’ve built it out of cardboard, you will cover it with newsprint/art paste. Consider the types of shapes he uses – are they geometric or organic? How do they fit together? You have the option of adding in a hybrid element. You will begin by making a miniature model out of construction paper (though your final piece will not be much larger…)
