We will determine the meaning of multiple-meaning words. 1. Jesse scored a goal to tie the game. 2. Sarah can tie her shoes. You already know that words, such as tie, can have more than one meaning. Words that have more than one meaning are called multiple-meaning words. Now, we will determine the meaning of multiple-meaning words.
