Support/Volunteer Firefighters By: Olvin Gomez

Intro Well as you can see my capstone project is about support/volunteering for firefighters I've been volunteering at fire station #51 located on Bellaire and Bintliff. Firefighting has been around the world for many years now. And well here goes my project!

What I'm Set To Learn In the volunteering I set out to learn about the requirements needed for firefighters. What consequences can you face? What education is needed to become a firefighter? What steps do you have to take? How is the life of a firefighter different than regular life?

Research Argument Claim: People should consider this as something important because many nations in the world don’t have fire departments.

Findings Cause of death My research has helped me Life of a firefighter EMT

Why Did I Choose This Project  Experience something new  Know how it feels to save peoples’ lives  Life of a firefighter  Future career

What I've Done  Learn basics:  Looking at supplies that they need on the fire truck  How to do CPR.  What kind of objectives you will do daily (maintenance mostly)  Be ready for any emergency

Global Connection Firefighting is a global connection because everywhere you go you will see fire stations or fire trucks going to attend an emergency. This is important in a global way because many nations in the world cannot afford or might not even have any fire stations.

The F.R.E.E. Project This project is mainly about the equipment that is no longer being used and they are given to developing countries. Thousand of developing and war-torn countries are fighting fires with no gloves, helmets, boots. -South Australia -Algeria - And others have stopped the volunteering of fire fighters.

Local Impact The local impact of this community is that many things happen at every second, every minute, any time basically. Firefighters are the ones mostly needed in a emergency.

Greatest Success My greatest success so far is that I'm currently visiting the fire station #51. Firefighters have taught me how does CPR works and what is the process that you have to do.

Greatest Challenge My greatest challenge so far would be that life will be complicated in some point while being a firefighter I say that because you will see things that you wouldn’t imagine yourself seeing and well it’s going to be tough because of the stories that firefighter have talked to me about

What Did I Learn About the World Throughout my capstone project I have learned so many new things. I learned that when you really want to be something in life it would be difficult but if you don’t give up you will accomplish more than that. The world is something we all live in and for me this career will make me see things about the world that I never thought I would see.

What I've Learned About My Self What I’ve learned about myself is that I can be very productive and what I didn’t know about me is that when I'm very interested in something I can be very smart. My point of view that I see of my self is that I have matured in ways that I never thought I will reach and I'm learning new things of the career that I want to be and study for.

How Will This Info Change The Future For me I think this information will really change the world to only the people that care because as I said before many things can happen at a blink of an eye without you knowing about it. This information will also change the world because people should be able to learn and experience something new.

Conclusion My presentation was basically of things that you should be aware and why should this be important to us and the whole community. Firefighting will always be important to the world no matter what What I concluded of me and my project was that it was a success and that this will be helpful to the people that don’t really know about things that happen around the world.
