The Name It Got Ф Jonathan Pierce proposed to change the name to ‘‘Thank God’’ Ф But the United States Postal Department decided not to. Ф It turned out to be named Blessing.

Population Ф Blessing was a single town at first. Then slowly people heard about the city. Ф In 1909 P. Ansley established a local newspaper. Ф This structure pulled people to the city.

Blessing Bank ФBuilt during the boom of 1907 ФOne of the few commercial buildings remaining ФStarted operating before 1932 and still currently ФIn 1996 it was restored looking like its original appearance. Before After

Blessing Hotel Ф Was built on 1906 by Victoria Architect Jules Lefland Ф As well as family homes for prominent developers Ф Such as Jonathan E. Pierce and son Abel B. Pierce

Masonic Lodge ФBuilt 1875 at Deming's bridge near pierce ranch. ФAlso by John Pierce and Masonic brothers ФThe first Floor was used as a Baptist church and community hall ФMoved about 1903 when town of Blessing was founded

The A. B. Pierce Home Built 1909 for Abel Pierce who with father co founded town of Blessing Pierce was a veteran of the Spanish- American war Was for gathering place for area civic leaders
