Use these words in a 3-4 sentence summary (pp ) fight pregnant shoes school six Maureen U-Haul furious doors Battle Mountain piano Oopsie Daisy

Quiz pp What impressed the waitress at the Owl Diner about the children? 2.What did Dad and Mom teach the kids about soil and rocks? 3.Did Mom buy prepared food or the ingredients to cook food from scratch? 4.How did they make beans last longer when they were going bad? 5.What kind of numbers did Jeannette do her math homework in that got her in trouble with the teacher?

summary Mom and Dad got in big fight about how long a woman can be pregnant-Mom said she carried babies extra long. They moved to a city, which meant six- year-old Jeannette had to wear shoes and go to school. After the baby, Maureen, was born they packed up a U-Haul to move to Battle Mountain, and Dad was furious for having to pull over when the doors of the truck swung open with the kids in back. They got a piano at their new place and Mom said “Oopsie-daisy” when she caused it to crash through the house and out to the backyard.
