Golfing By: Luke

Table of Contents Chapter 1:Why You Should Play Golf Chapter 2: Basics Chapter 3: Comparison Chapter 4: The Holes Chapter 5:Gear Chapter 6: Scores Glossary

Chapter 1: Why You Should Play Golf Golfing is a world wide sport that lots of people play. It’s a sport for boys girls all ages. My favorite part of golfing is the suspense will it go in. Golfing is fun exciting and suspenseful and a lot of other stuff. Also, you can goof off if you’re not a pro golfer and play with your friends. You can choose how many holes you want to play. You may think golfing is the most boring sport ever from television but playing it is really fun

Chapter 2: Basics Lets talk about the basics like hitting the ball the closest, or using a tee when teeing off. Also, when you tee off you have to use a driver. On the green you use a putter and you don’t hit it too far. Now, we’ll talk about the basic rules. One rule is you get 6 or less shots on the fairway and 4 shots on the green. Another rule is that you can play as much holes as you would like. I usually play 9. One last rule is that you have to use a putter on the green.

Chapter 3: comparison Now I’m going to compare golfing and another sport, hockey. First, I am going to think about similarities. For instance, the objective to shoot the puck in the goal at hockey. Also, to hit the ball into the hole in golf. Another similarities is the stick and the club they look alike. They are the same design but the hockey stick is wooden and the golf club is metal also the hockey stick is a little longer. Unlike golf, in hockey it is bad to get a low score. The ball and the puck are different 3D shapes. A puck is a cylinder, the ball is a sphere. The difference between a golf ball and a hockey puck is the hockey puck is like a squished golf ball. One more thing that is different about golf and hockey is that in golf there are teams in hockey, and in golf you’re solo. I like both, but I like golf more.

Chapter 4: The Holes Look at the hole above. This is one of nine holes in a full game. Nine to eighteen holes is a full course. Usually on the holes they have places to get water. For each hole they have different tees. The beginner tees are yellow, the woman's tees are red, the men's tees are blue, and the pros tees are white. The four main parts of the hole are the tees, the green, the fairway, and the rough.

Chapter 5: Gear First, I will tell you some of the basic gear such as marker, clubs, balls, tees, divot fixer, golf bag, golf shoes(no Crocs). There is some of the basic gear used for different and special things. Each one will help you time to time. Now I will tell you how each one is used: marker- to mark where your ball is Clubs- to hit the ball Ball- to hit in the hole Divot fixer-to fix holes in ground Tee-to but the ball on the to hit Golf bag- to keep all supplies in These things help you all the time when your golfing.

Chapter 6: Clubs Now I am going to talk about the clubs. There are so many clubs. First, there is the driver. There is a 1 driver used to teeing off, then driver 2and driver 3 are used for hitting on the fairway. Then there are wedges that are used for hitting the ball when you’re close to the green. Then, the one you usually use to hit on the green is the iron. Also, there are putters that are used on the green to hit in the hole.

Glossary divot – a tiny hole in the ground tee – a cone shaped object used to put your ball on sphere – the shape of a round ball Fairway – the part in the middle of the green and the place you tee of suspense – waiting to see what happens
