For months, years, decades on end, Mona Lisa never blinked, never moved, and never slept.
One night she had a glimmer of an idea: It was time for a break!
She leaped out of the frame and hurriedly ran to Charles De Gaulle Airport. Too late, security guards noticed that the frame was empty.
Flying on a jet to Hawaii, Mona enjoyed the view from her window seat.
After landing in Honolulu, a lady in a grass skirt placed a lei over her head and showed her where to get a taxi for Waikiki.
In Waikiki, Mona was thrilled to find a gorgeous pink flower for her hair at the International Market Place.
Then she went to the beach hoping to join Hawaiians enjoying a luau.
She met a man who sang to her while he played a ukulele.
He thought she was a beautiful wahinee.
He sang: “Aloha Mauna Lisa - Take off that mumu lets go for a swim; you’ve got a real hot body and I love that grin.”
