Cultural Resources Introduction BLM meets with MAC February 23, 2008 –BLM to work with Native American Advisory Committee (NAAC) on access to Painted Rock –If permits are required for self-guided access what is the process BLM meets with NAAC March 15, 2008 –Presented draft preferred alternative for access to Painted Rock (guided tours and self- guided) –For adaptive management to work in self-guided access permits, we need checks/balances on the system such as law enforcement, surveillance, monitoring etc. –BLM/NAAC to conduct workshop on July 26, 2008 to develop permit administrative procedures, conditions, and means to ensure permit compliance and site protection –Subsequent BLM/NAAC workshop to develop rock art preservation plan for Monument 2
