The Scientific Method

Parts of an Experiment Independent variable; Input, the manipulated variable. What the experimenter chooses to change Dependent variable; Output, what the experimenter measures. It Depends on the independent variable Experimental control; Trials used for comparison Constant variables; Variables that could change but don’t.

The Scientific Method is based on empirical evidence data that is collected through the five senses. 1.Touch 2.Taste 3.Smell 4.Hear 5.See

Empirical Evidence May be Quantitative (numbers) or Qualitative (descriptive)

Parts of an Experiment Independent Variable:" Input” “Manipulated Variable” The variable that the experimenter changes themselves. The experimenter “manipulates” the condition. Dependent Variable: “Out Put” The dependent Variable depends on the independent variable. This is wat the experimenter measures as a result (output) of manipulating (independent variable) another variable. Controlled Variable: " Constant Variable” These are variables (conditions) that could change but don’t. Experimental Control: “Control” The Trials used for comparison in an experiment.
