Between Life and Death Your Ideas Your Initiatives

WHY? Careless drivers have always been a major problem in Turkey. Drivers in Turkey don't give much respect to pedestrians. Therefore, we developed the ‘Between Life and Death’ project in order to draw attention to risky behaviors and educate our peers.

Things We Did We prepared a video about road safety. We designed a poster. We prepared a survey and have students take the survey. We hang posters around the hallway and classrooms. We gave a lecture about risky behavior in traffic to different classes. We had the students take the survey again a week later.

Survey Our survey consists of 14 questions. 4 questions are asked before the presentation. 10 questions are asked before and after the presentation to see the differences.

General Results From Surveys

Video We started our work to find out the best way to teach everyone, and we started to design our video. We tried to make the video as simple and understandable as we could.

Then, we shown the video in classes.

Poster We also thought that posters would attract people to the topic, so we designed a poster related to our topic ideas and shocking truths linked to the theme and how to avoid risk.

We made our poster.

We hang copies of the poster around the hallway.

We also hang posters in classes.

Then, we gave a lecture regarding risky behavior and road safety in classes.

Conclusion According to these results from the surveys, we know that we changed some minds. However, we were only able to talk with students in our school; thus, we weren’t able to change thousands of minds. The project can be improved by doing it in a bigger scale. (e.g. hanging posters all around the city)
