The Giving of the Torah Exodus 19:1 In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came Into the wilderness of Sinai. “Mattan Torah”

The Giving of the Torah Just as Passover memorializes the exodus from Egypt, Pentecost memorializes the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. To commemorate the day that He gave His Torah to Israel, the LORD commanded the children of Israel to observe the day of Shavuot as an appointed time

The Giving of the Torah Pentecost means "fifty." The festival is called Pentecost because it comes fifty days after the first day of Passover. The Torah refers to it as the Festival of Weeks (Shavu'ot) because it occur. Seven weeks after the first day of Passover. Henceforth we will use the Hebrew name of the festival: Shavuot.

One Accord Exodus 19:2 When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain.

Purpose of Redemption Exodus 19:3 Moses went up to God. The LORD called to him out of the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel."

Redemption Not Ultimate Objective The redemption of Israel was merely a step on the way to the ultimate objective of: A relationship with God (covenant) A divine revelation (Torah) The same concept applies to the spiritual redemption we receive through faith in Yeshua. The objective is not merely our own personal salvation from condemnation. God sent His Son to reconcile sinners to Him in relationship (new covenant) and to reveal Himself to them (Torah).

Final Redemption The objective is not merely the ingathering of the exiles of Israel and the defeat of Israel's enemies. The final redemption looks towards: The initiation of a new covenant A new revelation of Torah. Exodus = Final Redemption Covenant at Sinai = New Covenant Messianic Era Moses = Yeshua Mount Sinai = Mount Zion Giving of Torah = Going Out of the Torah

Gog and Magog and The Ingathering Exodus 19:4 You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself.

The New Covenant Exodus 19:5 Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine.

Kingdom of Priests Exodus 19:6 "And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation." These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.

Believe in Moses Exodus 19:9 The LORD said to Moses, "Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever.“ Then Moses told the words of the people to the LORD.

The Third Day Exodus 19:16 So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.

The Torah of Messiah The Messiah will teach a "New Torah," the Torah of Messiah. The Messiah's "New Torah will go forth" to all nations, as it says, ''A Torah will go forth from Me, and I will set My justice for a light of the peoples" (Isaiah 51:4).

Beneath the Torah’s Veil Exodus 19: And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD. 10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, 11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

Friend of the Bridegroom Exodus 19:17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God. John 3: Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. 29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

The Wedding at Mount Sinai Exodus 19:17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

Healings at Sinai Exodus 19:17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

Resurrections at Mount Sinai The voice of God stripped the souls out of the people who heard it, as it says, "Let not God speak to us, or we will die" (Exodus 20:19). After hearing the first commandment, the people all fell to the ground dead.

The First Trumpet Exodus 19:19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

The Last Trumpet Isaiah 27: 13 It will come about also in that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship the LORD in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

Sinai and the Second Coming Exodus 19:20 The LORD came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain.

The Ten Commandments Exodus 20: 1 Then God spoke all these words.

The LORD’s Name Exodus 20:7 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

The Sabbath Exodus 20: 10 The seventh day is a Sabbath of the LORD your God.

Father and Mother Exodus 20: 12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

Murder Exodus 20:13 You shall not murder.

Adultery Exodus 20: 14 You shall not commit adultery

Covetousness Exodus 20:17 You shall not covet.

From Shavuot to Pentecost Exodus 20: 18 All the people perceived the thunder and the lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance.

Pentecost Acts 2:2-6 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

The Mediator Exodus 20:19 Then they said to Moses, "Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we will die."

From Sinai to Zion Exodus 20:21-22 So the people stood at a distance, while Moses approached the thick cloud where God was. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.'"

Levertoff The Messianic revelation will be more perfect than the revelation at Sinai. Then it was but momentary, a glimpse; in the new age it will be permanent and continuous. All we see now is the mirrored reflection; then it will be the reality we see. The least in those days shall be greater than the greatest of these. (Levertoff, Love and the Messianic Age)

Prophecy Hebrews 12:26 And His voice shook the earth then [at Mount Sinai, but now He has promised [in Haggai 2:6], saying, "Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven."

The Signature THE LAW OF THE LORD WAS WRITTEN ON TWO TABLES OF STONE. THE FIRST TABLE DEALT WITH YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, THE SECOND SIX HAD TO DO WITH YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR FELLOWMAN.
